PILATES: AN EFFECTIVE AND SIMPLE FITNESS REGIMEN FOR EVERYONE

Are you experiencing chronic back pain and this pain is also affecting your joints and movement ability?

You have gone to physicians for pain killers, perhaps even to chiropractors, but the pain killers and cracking only relieved the pain temporary.

You find yourself looking for a long term solution in order to function as you did when you were 21 and conquering the world. Now, you just yearn to be pain-free after playing with your 7-year old kid for 30 minutes.

If you were asking around, it is likely one of your friends or physiotherapist will recommend Pilates exercise as a solution. If you were researching in Google, there are many Pilates Singapore sites also sharing the same thing – Pilates exercise is good for your posture (back) and joints.

PILATES in Singapore

Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong started Pilates

Pilates in Singapore is getting more popular – even Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has heard of it's benefit and started doing Pilates.

PILATES

Pilates is an innovative and safe system of mind-body exercise using a floor mat or a variety of specialized pilates equipment. It evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates and can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk, capable of creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen. (Yeah, we know – who doesn’t want that?)

Pilates offers you a safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates also improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain. A mind-body exercise like Pilates is activity that keys on the mental focus of the physical movements being performed. With this type of exercise, quality of movement is stressed over quantity of movement. You’ll often see instructors using a lot of verbal “cues” and coaching on things like the quality of breathing, rhythmic inhalation and exhalation during the exercise, and proper body alignment.

LEARN PILATES AT PILATIQUE PILATES SINGAPORE

Private Pilates Session

We highly encourage all students to begin with Private Private Sessions. In these private sessions, you will learn about your posture and your physical limitations. You will also learn pilates exercise modifications to ensure you practice pilates and perform other physical activities safely.

In private sessions as well, you will be able to take advantage of STOTT PILATES state of the art pilates apparatus such as the STOTT PILATES V2Max Plus Reformer, Cadilac Trapeze Table, Ladder Barrel, Stability Chair, and many other pilates props.

Our Instructors will work with you to personalize a plan that will help you reach your SMART goals.

Duet or Semi-Private Pilates Session

In a Duet Session, or also called Semi-Private Sessions, two clients work together with an Instructor. These sessions are lively and motivating, and when done 2-3 times each week they deliver visible and lasting results.

It is important to note that the partners in this class should be compatible or at the same level to ensure both are benefitting from the session. If one is with a rehab condition or is a slow learner, we would usually advice them to be in a private session for safety reasons. This also ensures we meet all parties' expectations when conducting a session.

Group Reformer Pilates Classes

For those who likes to socialize, or are limited to a budget, they can choose to combine their private sessions with group classes, or just attend group classes only.

At Pilatique, our group reformer pilates classes are capped at maximum of 4 participants. This small group class will ensure you get the attention of the instructors to modify or to correct your form while executing the exercises. Smaller group classes are also key to ensure safety of all participants.

Going for group classes also, is a gateway to our Pilates Teacher Training Courses. You may use this experience to consider if Pilates Instructing could potentially be your 'side' career to earn some extra income.
