Caren Keung
STOTT PILATES® Instructor
Caren helps clients build confidence in how they move through supportive, personalised and education-led Pilates instruction. Her sessions combine relatable explanations, empathetic communication and progressive movement so that each client’s comfort, safety and development remain at the centre of the experience.
Having personally navigated hypermobility, persistent pain and injury rehabilitation, Caren understands the uncertainty some clients may feel when beginning or returning to exercise. She creates a welcoming environment where clients can progress at an appropriate pace, build a stronger foundation and develop greater trust in their bodies.
Whether the goal is healthier everyday movement, improved strength, greater stability or the confidence to return to sport and recreation, Caren supports each client with warm encouragement and thoughtful guidance.
Role & Expertise
Coaching philosophy
Caren helps clients understand how and why they move rather than simply asking them to follow exercises. Her teaching combines clear explanations, attentive movement observation and exercise choices adapted to the individual.
Supportive progression
Caren meets clients at their current ability and introduces progressions with care. Her sessions support the gradual development of strength, stability, confidence and body awareness without making clients feel rushed.
Best fit
Beginners, clients rebuilding confidence after injury, individuals managing hypermobility or persistent discomfort, and those who value warm, encouraging instruction with a strong foundation in movement quality.
Background
Caren’s interest in movement health developed through her own effort to live and move better while managing hypermobility and chronic pain. During her earlier career in the creative, communications and marketing fields, Pilates became an important outlet for restoration, alignment and physical wellbeing.
Having practised weight and resistance training over the years, Caren found that Pilates gave her a deeper understanding of how the body functions as one connected system. It helped her appreciate the importance of inside-out stability, movement control and sustainable strength.
Her personal experiences rehabilitating sports-related and neuromuscular injuries have shaped the way she teaches. She understands that meaningful progress is not always linear and that clients may need patience, reassurance and appropriately adapted movement as they rebuild confidence.
Supporting loved ones through chronic and terminal illness has also strengthened Caren’s empathy and resilience. These experiences influence the care she brings to each session and her desire to support clients through changing circumstances and different stages of their movement journeys.
Caren enjoys connecting with clients of different ages and backgrounds. Through intentional communication and uplifting encouragement, she aims to help each client build a strong movement foundation and participate more confidently in everyday life, sport, travel and the activities that matter to them.
